What to Do at Night in Hsinchu
Hsinchu nightlife is vibrant enough to attract travelers from other regions. There may not be as many pubs and bars in Hsinchu as there are in bigger cities like Taipei or Kaoshiung, but what you can find here are cosy watering holes, charming pubs and delightful cafés.
You will be surprised to find how vibrant most pubs and bars are in Hsinchu. The crowd is appreciative and friendly, while the locals mingle easily with tourists and will not hesitate to make small talk while nursing a beer at the bar counter.
However, do be aware of certain ‘urban legends’ spread by those who claim that some night spots are not safe for tourists. Outsiders are welcome at any time.
Besides the pubs and bars, you can also take the time to visit some of the dynamic night markets in town. Taiwanese snacks and other delicacies are available, and the markets generally open till late so you’ll be able to browse to your heart’s content.Read More
