This place in Ling Ya District is all set to redefine chic in Kaohsiung. Two DJ booths, an awesome audio system, a B1 lounge, and world-class cocktails – this place has got it all to rock your party. It has links with Room 18 in Taipei and is, in fact, a spin-off from the already well-known Barcode in Taipei. It is also known to be a favourite haunt of celebs.

This place is famous for its live music and its always-something-on stage acts. Apart from providing a place for the night-lifers of Kaohsiung, it also gives a platform for the up-and-coming acts of the city. Drinks are reasonable and the restaurant serves a delicious BBQ spread. Also, this is one of the few places in town that actually remains open till breakfast time at the weekend. A must-visit for after-hours magic.

Dreams is the next biggest place to party in Kaohsiung. Located right behind the SOGO Department Store, this enormous nightclub can hold more than 1,000 people at a time. Weekends mean a series of theme-based parties in this joint, and weekdays too, have their charms – Tuesdays being Free Entry Night, Wednesdays, Ladies Night, and Thursdays, Shots Night. This is where Kaohsiung’s hardest partygoers prefer to spend their nights.

This slightly smaller and lesser-known place can be just the right party haunt for you and your party-loving friends. Although the dance floor is not as large as JuXing, Dreams and the others, the great DJs and the great sound systems more than make up for it. Moreover, the dance videos behind the DJ booth, the strobes, and the lighting all add to the party experience.

This is one of the hottest clubs in town – a place where you party hard on the dance floor, and then party some more – in the pool outside! For those who want a quieter and more private vibe, the lounge on the top level is just right. The bar is great and the crowd that comes here is better than most of the other, more popular joints.

This place has one of the largest dance floors in the city. With a capacity of more than 1,500 people at a time, JuXing has a multi-level dance floor, fully equipped to blast out music from four turntables run by two DJs at a time, this place is designed to party – hard. Performers are on rotation the entire night, and the music can range from techno to house to electro-house to any party track that you can dream of.

This is perhaps the most famous place among visitors in Kaohsiung. For creatures of the night – this is the place to be. Blaring an all-American playlist and all-American food, this place caters to local Kaohsiung night-lifers too. Spread over a whopping 1,200sqm, Lamp is large and loud – and the full scale LED wall screen takes the cake.

This is one of the first clubs in the Nuan Zih area. Instead of trying to woo people with complex dance floors and elaborate settings – this place offers its clients a simple and straightforward party experience with movies and videos thrown in to the bargain. Thursdays and Sundays are Movie Nights, while Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are unlimited drinking nights. A great place to party through the weekend.
