Nantou Restaurants & Dining

Where and What to Eat in Nantou

This charming little town in central Taiwan promises gourmands a treat. Specialties include top-quality Angus prime beef, produced from prized Angus cattle bred in a serene and fresh environment free from pollutants. The top-notch beef produced is then sent to Nantou and other cities in Taiwan to make their famous beef jerky and other beef dishes so coveted by the Taiwanese.

Another popular type of cuisine readily available in Nantou is Baiyi Cuisine. A typical Baiyi dish is made by stuffing spices into the belly of a fish, usually a carp, and then deep frying it to a golden crisp texture.

Also, when sampling desserts in Nantou restaurants or eateries, don’t forget to look out for Kyoho grapes. These grapes are highly prized in Nantou and are considered the national fruit – such is their delicious taste and freshness.
